Smoke games

It was in the winter last year when I tried to make picture of smoke – it is not very difficult, what you only need is the package of joss-sticks, strong light and dark background. The strong light is especially important because you want to „freeze“ the smoke movement by using short exposure time, which means again – strong light. I set up manual exposure mode on my camera because the automatic exposure does not cope welll with the given light setting. Smoke photography is in some ways a hazardous job – there is nothing really funny or healthy to be closed in one room and burn one incense after another but unfortunately you cannot open the window because the draught disturbes the smoke stream significantly. So I hope this was the last „winter“ topic and the next article will be again about the birds...:-)
