Stolen bird-hide

Well, sometimes it is said in Czech Republic that everything that is not tied down with a strong steel chain gets stolen soon or later. I thought that this will not happen with the simple bird hide I made from cheap masking net that I placed close to the Kingfisher burrow at the end of the May. The reason was simple - to let the birds get used to the hide while I was away for one month. I expected to use the hide as soon as I come back at the beginning of July. To my bad surprise, when I came back home the hide was gone! I just cannot get why the people has to steal anything they find - the net costs nothing but the loss is worse in my eyes as I lost one month and the birds might got disturbed more than I wanted. I though of making new hide but decided to abort that - the kingfisher hunts for the prey donwstream on the creek so I will rather bird there in the future, not close to their nests. I hope to come the next time with better news and maybe some pictures of kingfisher...
