Birdwatching

Photography and watching of birds are close-knit but it is very difficult to do both activities properly at the same time – either you focus on bird photography to get the best shot of one species with many birds you simply pass over or you are a real birdwatcher but seldom make perfect picture of the bird. While travelling on my trips to get some good bird pictures I meet much more birds than those I have in my gallery of course – some of the birds shots I make are not good for presenting on the website and some of the birds just escape before I get my camera ready. In spite of that I feel that this information can be very useful and important for somebody and so I decided to create my own birdwatching list.

In the main menu of this website there is a new link “Birdwatching” that will bring you to my birdlist, which will be regularly (I hope) updated. “Abbreviation explanation” contains obviously the explanation of some abbreviations I use in the birdwatching record list and the birdlist itself contains, besides the usual information, coordinates of the place of the birdwatching record – these coordinates are interactive, which means that after you click on it, new window opens with the map and exact position marked. In the case the coordinates` link is enclosed in parentheses, the localization is only approximate – it will not be many of these and I will always do this only because of the birds` safety – for example when the spot is a nesting place of some protected species.

Birdwatching records will be uploaded consequently according to the date and place. I believe that this information might be useful for somebody – especially for some local birders.
