It is difficult to cope with things that happen the other ways around than you expect. Did it ever happen to you that you wanted to help somebody but you hurt instead? Do you like nature and want to keep it safe? Do you like birds and the last thing you want to do is to harm them? That is exactly what happens sometimes.

First story: Pipit in the meadow
Place: Time: July 2008 Scene: It is early summer morning and I ascend the hill to take pictures of Great Skua nesting in the meadows at the top of the island. I turn off the path and wade through the dense grass wet from the morning dew. I pass some 20 meters when suddenly small bird takes off from beneath my foot. A bit shocked I realise that Pipits build their hidden nests in grass and leave the brood only during immediate danger. I was lucky this time – nothing happened so I just made sure the nest with beautiful small eggs was OK and left the scene swiftly and ashamedly…

It is difficult to admit but during little more than one year I killed two birds – how many is killed by the people that drive as maniacs (I consider myself very careful and attentive driver) and do not take care about the nature? And what about you? Do you know that frustration and anger from what you have caused? Would not be better to live somewhere far from the civilization and human devices that nature cannot defend itself from? Please, drive carefully!
